Simple socks featuring an easy-to-memorise geometric design similar to a basketweave.
The pattern gives three sizes from large child to man with suggested lengths for legs and feet … but these can be varied to suit. I include my preferred method for heels and toes but substitute these for your own favourite methods if you prefer. Suitable for male and female, this is a sock pattern you will return to many times.
Materials 100g sock/fingering weight yarn - the sample shown is knit in Blueberry Barn's Sturdy Sock.
Needles: Size 2.25mm (US1) – or the size needle to get gauge appropriate for your yarn
I knit my socks using magic loop, from the cuff down and this pattern is written with that method in mind, but you can use your choice of needles for knitting in the round, e.g. DPNs if you prefer and adapt the instructions slightly to suit the arrangement of stitches
